History

On a hunting trip late in 1964, Jim purchased this property/business without Pat's knowledge, in hopes of making it their life long dream to live and work in their home state that they both loved and missed. At the time they were living in Potomac Heights Maryland. Both were originally from PA, Jim from Saltsburg and Pat from Apollo. The business was a small store and restaurant that was having some difficulties surviving which pushed the owners to sell. They worked tirelessly to establish a small grocery store, restaurant, gas station and hunting and fishing tackle shop. They worked with Orvis, Fenwick & Cortland to establish a large selection of fishing attire and supplies. They sold rifles, shot guns, handguns for the hunters and camp owners. They served home cooked meals in their small restaurant for breakfast, lunch and dinner. This place provided for them for many years. In the 1980's when Dan, Jeff and Carla had all graduated from school and left to start their own lives. Jim and Pat sold the business and moved to the Log Cabin home, now listed as Anderwood. Dave and Carla purchased and remodeled Anderson Lodge to use as a rental cabin in 2017.

Description

The Anderson Lodge has five total bedrooms. The master bedroom has a queen size bed, a twin bed, as well as a crib and its own bathroom. The second bedroom has two full size beds and the third bedroom has one full size bed. Bedroom four has a twin size bed. All of the previous bedrooms are located on the second story of the building. The last bedroom is located on the ground floor and has a queen size bed. The cabin includes a full scale and fully equipped kitchen. The cabin is also equipped with dinnerware for twelve. There is an additional full bathroom upstairs as well as downstairs. There are three living areas as well as a dining room. This cabin also includes a coin operated washer and dryer. Parking is available for 10 vehicles.
